Job description

As a Sr. Android Engineer I, you'll design, build, and sustain secure iOS and Android applications with the goal of delivering mission-critical mobile capabilities across the federal government. Our engineering team is responsible for building and operating high-security mobile solutions for a highly visible government customer, and you'll play a key role in delivering reliable, secure, and scalable applications by contributing immediately within an Agile delivery model, collaborating closely with security and backend teams, and driving disciplined execution in a classified environment.

What you'll do:

  • Use cross-platform mobile frameworks and native iOS/Android technologies to design, develop, test, and maintain secure mobile applications.
  • Apply secure coding practices aligned with RMF, STIGs, and secure SDLC standards.
  • Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs, enterprise services, and identity and access management solutions..
  • Support Mobile Device Management (MDM) integrations, including Samsung Knox and VMware AirWatch.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and sprint execution to deliver mission-critical capabilities.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions clearly to teammates and leadership.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues rapidly in high-security environments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and technical excellence across the team.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Active Top Secret with active, or previous, SCI access.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred; relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Certification meeting DoD 8140 (e.g., Security+, or higher).
  • Certification meeting AZ-204 or AWS Developer Associate.
  • 5+ years of professional development of cross-platform mobile applications for both iOS and Android.
  • Experience maintaining, integrating, optimizing, and debugging existing mobile applications in operational environments.
  • Experience implementing secure mobile application architectures, including authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with enterprise services and APIs, including REST-based interfaces.
  • Experience supporting mobile device management and secure enterprise mobile deployments, including Samsung Knox SDK and Knox REST APIs.
  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.

This position is designated as essential personnel supporting continuity of operations and may require work during government shutdowns, emergencies, or other critical situations.

SALARY RANGE:  $170,000 - $216,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including: 

  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
