Job description

The Asia team is seeking an Associate for an entry-level position supporting the firm's large and dynamic Asia Region. As an Associate, you will support the Asia President and other senior staff with scheduling, team operations, editing and finalizing client deliverables, and other duties that assist the client service and internal functioning of this busy practice. You will also work with team members to understand client objectives, conduct research, and develop solutions in support of client engagements while building strong working relationships across teams. The Associate position will expose you to the details of the firm's business and client work, allowing you to develop geopolitical, regional, and sectoral/industry expertise.
Location
Washington, DC (hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)
Responsibilities
  • Provides executive and administrative support to the Asia President, and other senior staff as needed
  • Works directly with and learns from subject-matter experts
  • Manages day-to-day administrative priorities to ensure the Asia Team operates efficiently
  • Gains initial exposure to client-facing activities under supervision and interfaces with clients in a support role as requested
  • Conducts research, drafts client-specific content, and supports fast-paced projects, as needed
  • Coordinates internal and external meetings, including preparing agendas and materials, managing invitations, arranging logistics, and tracking next steps.
  • Actively participates in client management and business development efforts, including working with the Business Development team to prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations, and other documents for clients and prospects
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing team to develop outreach messaging and engagement materials and support in planning and executing high-profile receptions, dinners, roundtables, and other strategic client-facing events.
  • Learns foundational problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Begins to operate independently and take ownership of defined tasks while seeking guidance when needed
  • Contributes to firm development initiatives

Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of relevant prior professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in political science, international relations, regional studies, public policy or business administration, or a related field, or equivalent and relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of region (via prior living, academic, or professional experience preferred) and understanding of geopolitics in the region)
  • Proficiency in language used in Asia region strongly preferred (i.e. Chinese, Japanese, or Korean)
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint and other MS Office tools
  • Excellent presentation, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proactive approach to networking and stakeholder engagement
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with creative, solution-oriented, problem-solving skills
