Job description

Geo-Logic Associates (GLA) is a privately-held, multidisciplinary, geologic, geotechnical, hydrogeologic, civil, and environmental consulting firm. Our highly experienced professionals manage projects through 30 US office locations and an office in Peru. GLA is currently seeking a part-time or full-time Staff Environmental Professional to provide support for environmental due diligence, site characterization, and environmental remediation projects.

Office Location: St. Charles, Illinois

Ideally, the applicant will have a well-rounded background in the earth sciences and geology and will be able to work collaboratively with GLA professionals across all offices and disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and performing field investigation programs that frequently include management of subsurface exploration subcontractors, soil sample collection, borehole logging, monitoring well installation, groundwater sampling, aquifer testing, and subsurface characterization.
  • Conducting field and report preparation activities relating to Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments,
  • Routinely working with state regulatory oversight agencies across the country
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals,
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, diagrams, site plans, and aerial maps, and
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, clients and employees.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field preferred, but not mandatory
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience is desired
  • Knowledge of IEPA Site Remediation Program and Leaking Underground Storage Tank programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfort speaking with clients and regulators, and possession of strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-starter and problem solver

Candidate Must:

  • Be eligible to work in the United States
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record acceptable to our insurer
