Job description

Physician (Chief Physician)

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Physician (Chief Physician), you will:

  • Provide consultation on MCHB programs to the Associate Administrator and Deputy Associate Administrator regarding health policy, program priorities, clinical quality and safety, legislative impact, and external activities.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to MCHB Division/Office Directors, assesses and implements plans and policies that further support the mission of the Bureau and the achievement of HRSA's goals.
  • Be responsible for clinical and public health consultation and leading the design, direction, and execution of MCHB programs.
  • Direct special projects such as preparing issue and decision papers relating to the MCHB or HRSA programs and plans for use in briefings for a variety of officials, including White House and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) officials, and Congressional staff to inform decision-making by the MCHB and HRSA directors and others on major policy issues.
