Location: Dothan, Alabama
Department: Accounting amp; Finance Reports to: CFO/CEO
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $55,000-$65,000 depending on experience level.
Position Overview:
The Accountant I is responsible for assisting with financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting various accounting functions. This role involves preparing financial reports, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling general ledger accounts, and contributing to financial audits. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a fundamental understanding of accounting principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process and record daily financial transactions accurately, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and payments.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries, perform monthly bank reconciliations, and assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
  • Perform periodic audits and analysis to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Provide administrative and accounting support, including data entry, document management, and record retention.
  • Assist in preparing documents and schedules for financial audits, reviews, and tax filings.
  • Communicate with internal departments to clarify accounting discrepancies and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial and sensitive employee information.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
