Job description

MLC Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant for their client in Canastota, New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations with a primary focus on invoicing, accounts payable, credit card reconciliations, cash receipts, expense reimbursements, financial record maintenance, and financial reporting. This position requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Process vendor invoices and accounts payable, ensuring proper approvals and timely payments.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and investigate discrepancies.
  • Record and post cash receipts and apply payments to customer accounts.
  • Review, process, and reconcile employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and resolve variances.
  • Generate and distribute recurring financial reports for management.
  • Assist with budgeting, audits, and special accounting projects as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve accounting processes and maintain accurate financial information.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
