Job Description:
At Regions, the Senior Accountant uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve moderately complex accounting or operational issues, prepares and analyzes financial results for reports, and partners with internal and external clients to meet reporting needs.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Manages accounting and reporting requirements for select business groups including planning and analysis
  • Prepares special accounting reports for management or regulatory authorities
  • Monitors compliance with accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principals
  • Interacts with various levels of internal and external clients to obtain or provide information and/or resolve issues for assigned tasks, accounts, and legal entities
  • Provides general ledger research, inputs to strategic planning, and leads special projects
  • Performs accounting estimates and ensures key reports and processes are operating efficiently and effectively
  • Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information
  • May coordinate preparation and distribution of financial statements
  • May organize completion of quarterly and Annual regulatory filings
  • May prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
  • Develops skills to become accounting subject matter expert
  • May lead large projects

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Five (5) years of accounting, corporate finance or directly related experience

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Advanced analytical and research skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting systems, and practices

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense.
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
