Job description

The Senior Associate Accountant is a position within the Americas Controller organization. The associate will work closely with other members of the Finance organization, especially members of FP&A, Legal, Regional Shared Service, and Treasury.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for month-end/quarter-end closing the general ledger for Corporate entities timely and accurately (posting journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, loading the consolidation system, preparing SOX controls, and coordinating with upstream/downstream functions to resolve issues).
  • Preparing quarterly financial statements, accounting forms, analytics, and governmental filings.
  • Monitoring assigned accounts to ensure that monthly activity is posted accurately, efficiently and if issues are detected, a recommendation is made to resolve.
  • Interfacing with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist with special project or ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Identifying, solving and/or escalating accounting issues to his/her supervisor.
  • Interface with external third party service providers on special purpose entities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 0-2 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced degree or CPA a plus.
  • Understanding of accounting principles & internal controls.
  • Applies concepts and guidelines; demonstrates healthy skepticism and effective problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Previous experience with SAP is plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Self-motivated, driven and effectively prioritizes assignments.
  • Exhibits a positive can-do attitude and approaches responsibilities with an open mind.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
