Purpose:

The Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) Actuarial Associate III plays an important role in supporting Athene's growing PRT business by developing actuarial models, performing financial analysis, and delivering pricing insights that help drive informed business decisions. This role partners closely with actuarial, finance, risk, and business stakeholders to support pricing, reserve analysis, financial projections, and reinsurance transactions while continually improving the team's modeling capabilities and processes.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance actuarial pricing models supporting Pension Risk Transfer transactions, including cash flow projections, reserve calculations, and financial analysis.
  • Perform actuarial analysis to support pricing recommendations, reinsurance transactions, and management decision making.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to validate models, improve governance, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of actuarial assumptions and financial results.
  • Identify opportunities to improve modeling efficiency through automation, innovation, and the responsible use of AI-enabled tools while maintaining strong model governance and controls.
  • Apply critical thinking and sound actuarial judgment to solve complex business challenges, continuously improving processes and supporting scalable growth initiatives.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 4+ years of relevant actuarial experience in pricing, valuation, retirement products, pension risk transfer, or relevant experience.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation or significant progress toward Fellowship (FSA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience developing actuarial models and performing financial analysis using actuarial modeling tools, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment, embraces innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement, including the appropriate use of AI-enabled tools.
