Job description

Lifeguard Position At Red Barn Ranch

At Red Barn Ranch, we provide a fun, safe, and educational environment for campers of all ages. Our goal is to create memorable summer experiences while ensuring the health and safety of all participants. We are currently seeking responsible, skilled, and enthusiastic Lifeguards to join our camp team this summer!

As a Lifeguard at Red Barn Ranch, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all campers and staff in and around the water. You will monitor swimming activities, enforce safety rules, provide emergency response when necessary, and assist with general camp operations. You must be vigilant, approachable, and ready to provide excellent customer service while prioritizing safety at all times.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor swimming areas to ensure a safe environment for all campers.
  • Enforce water safety rules and regulations.
  • Respond to emergencies quickly and effectively.
  • Perform water rescues and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized lifeguard station.
  • Assist with camper instruction during water-based activities (e.g., swimming lessons, water games).
  • Collaborate with other camp staff to ensure a smooth and fun camp experience.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications include:

  • Current Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent).
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts).
  • Experience as a lifeguard or in a similar role is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong swimming skills and ability to perform rescues if necessary.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with campers and staff.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Passion for working with children and creating a positive camp experience.
  • Must be available for the full summer camp season.

Physical requirements include:

  • Ability to swim and perform water rescues.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to [Weight] lbs. and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Compensation:

  • Camp Staff are paid on a bi-weekly basis and pay would range from $400-600 per week.
  • Expected schedule is 9am-4pm M-F.
