Job description

Job Title: Windows Kernal Driver Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA

Onsite/ Remote: Day 1 Onsite at customer location

Device interaction debugging across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries, including ACPI/Power

Familiarity with drivers, Windows services, telemetry instrumentation, and AI diagnostics

Experience with diagnostics pipelines and a "make it observable" mindset

HLK/HCK knowledge, release validation, and build/release coordination

Core requirements:

Expertise in Windows drivers, kernel mode and user mode, system integration, telemetry, automation, and debugging tools

Delivery environment includes HLK compliance, build/release coordination, and troubleshooting

Hardware edge: bring up, debugging hardware/firmware/software interaction

Proficiency in C/C++ and relevant tool ecosystems like Git and low level debug tools

Responsibilities:

Develop, test, and sustain Windows kernel mode and user mode drivers and system services

Debug complex hardware, firmware, and OS interactions

Drive quality, validation, and release readiness (HLK, LKG, PST)

Add telemetry and diagnostics for fast, remote issue resolution

Collaborate with hardware, firmware, IHVs, and internal Windows teams

Required Candidate Capabilities:

Professional experience with Windows drivers or system software

Proven kernel debugging and dump analysis skills

Experience supporting release quality or validation

Ability to work across hardware and firmware boundaries

Strong collaboration and ownership mindset

Highly Desired Experience:

HLK/driver signing/release pipelines

Telemetry, diagnostics, or automation tooling

Secure driver or system design practices

Device bring up or early hardware validation
