Job description

We are currently looking for a QC for a manufacturing company located in the City of Industry.

Shift 5am to 1:30pm Monday to Friday with Opportunity of OVERTIME

The Metal Fabricator / QC Technician is responsible for manufacturing metal components and ensuring they meet quality standards through inspection and measurement. This role requires strong knowledge of fabrication processes and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), to verify product compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabrication Duties:

  • Operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, saws, grinders, and welding tools
  • Cut, shape, and assemble metal components according to blueprints and specifications
  • Perform MIG/TIG welding and basic fitting as required
  • Maintain proper material handling and ensure safe work practices
  • Inspect parts during fabrication to ensure accuracy and consistency

Quality Control Duties:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM if applicable)
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes per specifications
  • Document inspection results and maintain quality records
  • Identify non-conforming parts and initiate corrective actions

GD&T Responsibilities:

  • Interpret GD&T callouts including position, flatness, concentricity, and profile
  • Ensure parts meet geometric tolerances and functional requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve tolerance issues
  • Assist in developing inspection methods based on GD&T requirements

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication and/or quality inspection
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles
