Job description

Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking an EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN to join our FLOAT POOL team! (This position may float to inpatient units, including ER as needed)
This EMT will perform certain functions within their scope of practice and hospital policy for patients of all age groups (infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). The EMT will document all procedures, observations and/or patient care performed in the Emergency Department in the patient record. In addition, the EMT will maintain communication with other providers and assist the patient care team in providing service to the customer.
HOURS: Full Time or .9 FTE, 72 hours every pay period. Day/Night rotation (6:30am-6:30pm / 6:30pm - 6:30am), every 3rd weekend, holiday rotation
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of emergent patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MA, EMT, CNA, or other healthcare related experience beneficial.
  • Six months of cardiovascular experience is beneficial.
  • Possesses an active Wisconsin EMT license.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
