Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: Applications & Web Programmer/ Developer in the Office of Information Technology Services.
The Applications & Web Programmer/ Developer serves as the lead web applications programmer to plan and build online applications, mobile, and web-based services for the university and its stakeholders. This position assists with training web programmers, provides quality web support services for applications, forms, and the university website CMS system, and performs system troubleshooting; and provides training to clients.

Required Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in communications, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology. Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or information science. Two (2) years of professional application and web development experience. Experience training others in developing web applications. Demonstrated experience in information and interface design and content management systems. Experience with using and operating in a UNIX environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for programming applications and providing web development services. Manages and maintains application and web-based services. Uses appropriate tools for database/application development, web development, authoring, programming, and testing/troubleshooting. Provides client support and training for applications. Creates training resources.
  • Manages assigned projects. Identifies project requirements, steps, and timelines. Provides consistent and regular updates on project statuses that support communication updates for clients. Performs project post-completion evaluations.
  • Implements designs standards for applications for visual administrative and user interface designs. Ensures usability, accessibility, and coding efficiency consistent with current CCU standards, regulations, laws, and trends. Also works with university marketing and communication staff to ensure websites are consistent with the current website design and are in alignment with university communication expectations and standards. Perform assigned work in the university content management system (CMS).
  • Responsible for documentation of all work performed. Documents work performed in the ticket system and in assigned university project management tools. Provides consistent and frequent updates to document the progress toward completion for assigned projects.
  • Assist supervisor in performing system upgrades and updates. Performs troubleshooting and resolves system issues.

Web Developer (AM15/61121917/FTE-S01171P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Grade: TEC04. Salary range: $52,100.00 (midpoint) - $70,300.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
