Radiology Technologist Position Summary
As a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist, you'll oversee image quality, ensure system functionality, and provide technical support for radiology imaging systems. You will collaborate with clinical and IT teams to maintain Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and assist users in optimizing imaging workflows. This role requires a strong understanding of radiologic technology, informatics, and system troubleshooting.
Primary Responsibilities - Radiology Technologist
Ensure Image and System Integrity: Assess imaging system performance and quality, initiate repairs, and coordinate ongoing maintenance to ensure high diagnostic standards.
Support Radiology Technology: Act as a liaison between radiology and IT, helping to manage PACS operations, resolve system issues, and maintain user accessibility.
Provide Technical Guidance: Assist staff in using imaging applications effectively, offering education and support across all clinical departments.
Develop Documentation and Training: Create system-related documentation including workflows, training guides, and system charts to support efficient department operations.
Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work with radiology, informatics, and clinical teams to enhance imaging practices and system integration.
Maintain Compliance: Follow hospital standards for technical documentation, system security, and best practices related to diagnostic imaging systems.
Technical Skills & Core Competencies
  • Strong understanding of PACS functionality and diagnostic imaging workflows
  • Experience supporting clinical applications and radiology systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for multi-level user engagement
  • Ability to manage documentation, develop training tools, and communicate technical solutions
  • Experience working independently as well as part of a cross-functional team
  • High attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving abilities
Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications:
  • ARRT (RT) certification and New Mexico Radiologic Technologist License preferred
  • BLS certification required
Education & Experience:
  • Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in radiology technology
  • At least 2 years of PACS experience or 3 years of Epic/PACS IT experience
  • Strong background in radiology systems, informatics, or clinical imaging support
