École Française de Boston (EFB) is a French bilingual school serving children from Toddler through 5th Grade across three campuses in Cambridge and Watertown, Massachusetts.
Accredited by the French Ministry of Education and part of the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) network, EFB offers a high-quality French education in a bilingual and multicultural environment.

About the Position
EFB is looking for an English speaking enthusiastic and creative Music Teacher to introduce students to music through singing, rhythm, movement, listening, musical exploration, and age-appropriate instruments.
The Music Teacher will work with students at the preschool and elementary level and will design engaging lessons adapted to the age, developmental level, and abilities of each group.
The ideal candidate is comfortable creating a joyful and inclusive learning environment where students can explore music, develop new skills, express themselves, and build confidence.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach engaging, age-appropriate music lessons
  • Introduce students to musical concepts through singing, rhythm, movement, listening activities, and instruments
  • Develop students' musical skills while encouraging creativity, participation, and self-expression
  • Establish clear learning objectives and adapt instruction to students' ages, abilities, and needs
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Differentiate activities when necessary to ensure that all students can participate and progress
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, campus directors, and other members of the EFB team
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and school-wide projects when appropriate
  • Contribute to performances, celebrations, or other special school events involving music
  • Communicate with families when appropriate regarding students' learning and participation
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and other school activities as required
  • Follow EFB policies and procedures and contribute to the safety and wellbeing of all students
Qualifications
  • Degree or professional training in music, music education, education, or a related field
  • Previous experience teaching music to children strongly preferred
  • Experience working with preschool and/or elementary-aged children
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons for different age groups
  • Creativity, organization, reliability, and flexibility
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Professional proficiency in English
  • French proficiency is welcomed but not required
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for children from diverse backgrounds
