Description
OpenDor Media is looking for freelance video editors to join our team and help create entertaining educational YouTube and social media videos about Judaism and Israel. We're looking for someone with previous experience creating YouTube and/or Instagram and TikTok videos; someone with a proven track record whose videos have strong retention and high views.
The video editor is someone who can always keep the bigger picture in mind while implementing notes and suggestions. They are a team-player but are also self-motivated and know how to get things done. They love helping see the vision come to life through their editing. This is a remote position.
What You'll Do:
  • Edit short and long videos for YouTube exclusively in Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Edit videos for Instagram and TikTok using their native platforms
  • Edit host's narration, choose the best takes, and ensure the audio is seamless
  • Research and gather material such as b-roll footage and archival images, understanding what can and cannot be legally used on YouTube and social media
  • Collaborate with the motion graphics team when needed
  • Basic color correction
  • Search for and edit music into the video when needed
  • Sound edit and sound mix the final sequence
  • In some cases, act as an assistant editor to another editor, for example gathering materials, choosing selects, laying down subtitles

Requirements
What You Have:
  • Minimum 3 years editing experience
  • Knowledge of YouTube best practices in terms of pacing and music and/or Knowledge of social media best practices
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and working knowledge of Photoshop, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Audition
  • Able to work within low budgets
  • Enthusiasm for educating about Judaism and Israel
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills with great attention to detail
  • Solution-oriented; able to creatively troubleshoot
  • Able to meet deadlines and thrive in fast-paced, demanding environments while juggling multiple projects
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to independently learn new skills and technologies as needed
  • Fluency in English; Hebrew skills a plus

Salary
We pay between $125 and $150 for short video edits and $1200-$1800 for longer edits depending on how complicated the edit will be and how much b-roll will be needed.
