Job Description:

The Marketing Team at Shield AI is hiring a Video Editor focused on crafting compelling stories across a wide range of formats, from high-volume short-form content to polished long-form narratives. You are a creative, detail-oriented editor with strong technical expertise and a refined storytelling sensibility who can transform complex ideas into engaging visual content through pacing, structure, sound design, and visual polish.

You partner closely with business development, marketing leadership, program managers, and production teams to shape narratives in post, aligning edits with story, tone, and platform-specific requirements across aspect ratios and distribution channels. You are comfortable working across a diverse slate of projects, balancing quick-turn social and digital content with more in-depth, cinematic storytelling pieces.

You execute end-to-end post-production workflows, including media organization, editing, color correction, sound mixing, and finishing. You maintain clean, organized project files to support collaboration and scalability, and you deliver high-quality assets optimized for a variety of platforms. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of craft and consistency. Flexibility for shifting priorities and tight turnaround timelines is essential.

What you'll do:
  • Edit a high volume of short-form video content alongside longer-form narrative pieces, balancing speed with storytelling quality.
  • Craft compelling edits from raw footage, including interviews, b-roll, and cinematic material, that align with brand voice and narrative goals.
  • Collaborate with producers, videographers, and stakeholders to shape story, pacing, and structure across formats and platforms.
  • Manage end-to-end post-production workflows including media ingest, organization, editing, color correction, sound design, and final delivery.
  • Optimize content for multiple platforms and aspect ratios, ensuring consistency and quality across outputs.
  • Maintain clean, organized project files and workflows to support efficient collaboration and scalability.
  • Incorporate feedback quickly and iterate on edits to meet evolving creative direction and tight deadlines.
  • Support archival and media management best practices, including secure handling of sensitive or export-controlled material when applicable.
Required qualifications:
  • 5 to 7 plus years of professional experience in video editing or post-production, with a strong reel demonstrating storytelling, pacing, and technical craft across short- and long-form content.
  • Proven ability to shape compelling narratives from raw footage, including interviews, b-roll, and cinematic material.
  • Advanced proficiency in industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of post-production workflows including media organization, color correction, sound design, and delivery specifications.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, feedback-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Commitment to brand consistency and adherence to data handling protocols when applicable.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience editing for a variety of platforms including social, digital, and long-form content, with an understanding of platform-specific best practices.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics, basic animation, or visual effects to enhance storytelling.
  • Understanding of production workflows to collaborate effectively with videographers and ensure efficient handoff from capture through post.
