An Assistant Video Editor supports the main video editor by organizing raw footage, syncing audio and video, preparing project files, and handling technical tasks like transcoding or exporting videos. They may also assist with basic editing, applying effects, or assembling rough cuts based on the editor’s instructions. Their work helps streamline the post-production process and ensures that the final video meets the desired quality and timeline.

What does an assistant video editor do?

Assistant video editors help the primary editors on post-production projects for film or television. In this role, your job duties may include reviewing the raw footage, logging each shot into the database for easy access, compiling requested footage, preparing the editing equipment and software, and loading up the videos before editing begins. Assistant video editors are support positions that complete the preparation and administrative tasks necessary for editing, but they may occasionally edit some portions of the project. Many assistant video editors aspire to become a primary editor, and use this position to gain experience in the field as well as network with other editors.

To thrive as an Assistant Video Editor, you need a solid understanding of video editing principles, attention to detail, and familiarity with post-production workflows, often supported by a degree in film, media, or a related field. Proficiency in editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and basic knowledge of media management systems is typically required. Strong organizational skills, the ability to take direction, and effective communication help set standout candidates apart. Job description

AtElectric Mind,Engineeringis where strategy meets action. Our team helps organizations cut through complexity-aligning business ambition with technology execution to unlock real, lasting change. You'llwork alongside curious, driven people tackling high-impact challenges for everyone from scaling startups to global enterprises. Each engagement is different, pushing you to learn, adapt, and grow.
About the Role
We're looking for a Junior Marketing Coordinator who is creative, curious, highly organized, and excited to learn.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety and wants exposure to all sides of marketing. One day you might be designing a social media graphic in Figma, the next you could be updating our website, preparing PowerPoint materials, scheduling social posts, or helping set up an event.
You are a fast learner, have a great eye for design, sweat the small stuff, and be willing to roll up your sleeves.
You'll work closely with our marketing team to bring campaigns, events, content, and the Electric Mind brand to life.
What You'll Do

Creative & Design

  • Create visual assets for social media, campaigns, events, presentations, invitations, posters, digital cards, and other marketing materials
  • Design and adapt assets using Figma
  • Create polished and on-brand PowerPoint presentations and templates
  • Resize, repurpose, and adapt creative for different channels and formats
  • Help maintain consistency across all marketing materials and brand touchpoints
  • Support basic video editing and creation of short-form content when needed

Digital Marketing

  • Publish and update content on our website using Webflow
  • Schedule and publish social media content using Buffer
  • Help manage and organize digital marketing assets
  • Support email and campaign activities
  • Conduct quality checks before content goes live, including spelling, formatting, links, images, and brand consistency

Events

  • Support planning and execution of internal and external marketing events
  • Help prepare event materials, signage, presentations, invitations, name badges, and other assets
  • Assist with event set-up and tear-down
  • Be comfortable jumping in wherever needed to make an event run smoothly

Marketing Support

  • Support the broader marketing team across campaigns, content, communications, and day-to-day activities
  • Help keep marketing files, templates, and assets organized
  • Work on multiple projects at once while keeping track of deadlines and details
  • Take on new projects and leverage AI tools with a willingness to learn
What You'll Bring
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, design, or a related field
  • Strong visual/design skills and a good eye for composition, typography, layout, and branding
  • Figma experience is a must
  • Strong PowerPoint skills are a must
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written communication and proofreading skills
  • Comfortable working across multiple projects and priorities
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to get hands-on
  • Fast learner who is comfortable picking up new tools and technology
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Webflow
  • Experience with Buffer or other social media management platforms
  • Basic video editing skills
  • Experience with Microsoft tools
  • Experience supporting corporate or client-facing events
  • Experience in a professional services, consulting, technology, or B2B environment
You'll be Successful if
You're someone who notices when a logo is slightly misaligned, catches the typo everyone else missed, and actually enjoys making a PowerPoint deck look great.
You're creative but organized. You're comfortable asking questions, but you also know how to figure things out. You don't need to be an expert in every marketing platform. If you're given a new tool, your reaction is more likely to be "let me figure it out" than "I've never used that."
Most importantly, you're excited to learn, contribute, and become a little bit better at marketing every day.
What You'll Gain
You'll get exposure to a broad range of marketing disciplines rather than being stuck doing one narrow piece of the puzzle. You'll work closely with an experienced marketing team and have the opportunity to develop your skills across creative, digital, content, social media, events, and technology.
If you're looking for a role where you can learn quickly, do meaningful work, and have your hands in a bit of everything, this could be a great fit.
