How You'll Contribute:
As the Assistant Vice President, Information Technology, you will provide strategic leadership for one or more technology teams responsible for delivering innovative, secure, and reliable technology solutions that support EquiTrust's business objectives. You will partner with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technology teams to shape IT strategy, oversee technology investments, develop high-performing teams, and drive successful delivery of enterprise initiatives.

What You'll Do:
β€’ Lead, develop, and inspire high-performing Information Technology teams through coaching, talent development, succession planning, performance management, and employee engagement
β€’ Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute IT strategies that support organizational priorities, portfolio initiatives, and long-term business goals
β€’ Direct technology initiatives from planning through implementation, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, quality, and timeline expectations
β€’ Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage technology to improve business processes, operational efficiency, and customer experiences
β€’ Build strong partnerships with business leaders to understand organizational needs and align technology solutions with strategic objectives
β€’ Oversee IT resource planning, budgeting, and investment decisions to maximize value and organizational effectiveness

What You'll Bring:
Education
β€’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required
β€’ Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Experience
β€’ Extensive leadership experience in Information Technology, including experience managing technology teams and enterprise initiatives
β€’ Experience developing and executing IT strategies that align with organizational goals and business priorities
β€’ Experience leading software development, application delivery, infrastructure, or enterprise technology organizations
β€’ Experience within insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
β€’ Proven ability to develop and execute technology strategies that support business growth, operational excellence, and enterprise priorities
β€’ A proven people leader who develops talent through coaching, psychological safety, and clear expectations, creating an environment where individuals and teams can thrive
β€’ Strong understanding of enterprise information systems, application architecture, systems integration, and Agile software development practices
β€’ Hands-on experience delivering digital technology solutions within the life and annuity industry, with a strong understanding of the product lifecycle and end-to-end business operations
β€’ Experience designing or delivering digital experiences for both financial professionals and end customers across web, mobile, and service channels, with an emphasis on consistency, usability, and self-service capabilities
β€’ Ability to translate between business stakeholders and technical teams, building trusted relationships across the organization while communicating technology strategy effectively to senior leaders and external partners
β€’ Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills with the ability to solve complex business and technology challenges
β€’ Experience leading technology portfolios, resource planning, budgeting, and enterprise initiatives in a dynamic environment
β€’ Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, collaboration, and developing high-performing teams
