Veterinarian – Aurora Animal Hospital | Fairbanks

Looking for a change of pace and a chance to practice meaningful medicine in one of the most beautiful places in the country? Aurora Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian who's excited about living in Alaska and confident handling emergency cases independently at night.

This is a 3-day per week ER-focused role (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 2pm–midnight). Your afternoons and early evenings include general appointments, then you transition to emergency-only care till midnight. You'll see a wide variety of cases, but the ER volume is manageable—not overwhelming—allowing you to practice thoughtful, high-quality medicine.

You'll join a collaborative 7-doctor team with a supportive owner who enjoys mentoring and helping with complex cases. With no local ER nearby, most procedures are done in-house, so you'll have the tools, autonomy, and trust to do what's best for your patients. The hospital plays an essential role in the community, and the appreciation from clients is genuine.
