Job description

Roseburg High School is seeking anย Assistant Varsity Girls' Wrestling Coach for their Winter 2026ย athletic season. Pay is a $5,235.00 stipend for the season. This position will primarily support the Girls' Wrestling program under the Head Wrestling Coach and may support all wrestlers in the high school program as needed.
Distinguishing Characteristics

  1. Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
  2. Previous successful coaching experience preferred.
  3. The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sportย and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent toย the field.
  4. Serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes throughย their instructions and actions.ย 


REPORTS TO:ย The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluations.ย 
JOB GOAL:ย To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the sameย time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to sociallyย acceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride ofย accomplishment in the student athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skillsย through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.ย 
All out of District candidates selected for employment must satisfactorily complete screening tests for federally illegal drug use, including marijuana, prior to the District presenting a final offer of employment. The position also requires ODE Fingerprint Clearance.
