Job description


Assist the Superintendent with all field operations within their assigned area. Assist with Coordination across all scopes, manage reports, maintains the area schedule. Works alongside peers; Senior Project Manager, QAQC Manager, and Safety Manager. Responsible for making sure subcontractors are performing. Subcontractors are treated as Foremen with the same authority structure. Handles internal and external field documentation.

On smaller projects, a single Superintendent may own the entire Field Operations.


Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years field experience with at least 3 as a Foreman, OSHA 30, proficient with computer and iPad including Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Suite. Must collaborate effectively with all peers and project team members.


Decision Authority

Supports field execution decisions involving sequencing, manpower allocation, operational coordination, and schedule recovery efforts. With Superintendent visibility, may approve field-level operational adjustments that do not impact project cost, contractual milestones, or design intent. Possesses non-safety stop work authority for operational concerns, quality deficiencies, or procedural noncompliance. Any impacts involving cost, contract milestones, design changes, or significant schedule delays must be elevated to the Superintendent and Project Management team immediately.


Key Responsibilities

Assist in all responsibilities of the Superintendent

Assists in leading and overseeing all field activities, documentation, and operations on one or multiple large/complex projects

Ensure Foreman maintain accurate records.

Review and approve external documentation.

Direct foremen, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure operational excellence.

Serve as primary field authority.

Develop and drive the project schedule in close coordination with the Superintendent, Senior Project Manager/Project Manager.

Coordinate all subcontract work.

Lead and conduct safety meetings and champion a strong safety culture.

Lead, mentor, and develop assistant superintendents, foreman and labor staff.

Ensure all work is performed safely, cleanly, and in accordance with client expectations.

Ensure all work meets applicable plans, specifications, and quality requirements.

Oversee inspections, testing, and deficiency correction in the field.
