Activities Assistant CNA Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents/patients, considering their individual interests and abilities
  • Provide hands-on assistance and support to residents/patients during activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment
  • Encourage resident/patient participation in activities and facilitate social interactions to promote a sense of community and belonging
  • Maintain accurate records of resident/patient participation in activities and any observations or changes in behavior or mood
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, therapists, and social workers, to integrate activity programs into the overall care plan
  • Modify activities as needed to accommodate the diverse needs and preferences of residents/patients, including those with physical or cognitive limitations
  • Assist with the procurement and organization of supplies, equipment, and materials needed for activities
  • Communicate regularly with residents/patients, families, and team members to solicit feedback, address concerns, and promote engagement in activities
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to activities programming and resident/patient care
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations governing activities programming in long-term care facilities

Activities Assistant CNA Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Florida
  • Previous experience in activities programming or a related field preferred but not required
  • Passion for working with older adults and individuals with diverse needs and abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
