We are looking for an Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Louisiana. This opportunity is well suited for an early-career candidate with academic training in finance, accounting, or business who is eager to build analytical expertise in a marine underwriting environment. The role centers on reviewing information, organizing findings in spreadsheets, and supporting sound underwriting decisions through careful research and thorough analysis.


Responsibilities:

• Examine financial and business information to support marine underwriting evaluations and identify relevant risk factors

• Build, update, and maintain spreadsheet models and reports used to organize research findings and underwriting data

• Review submissions and related documentation to help assess creditworthiness, exposure, and overall account quality

• Assist underwriters by preparing summaries, compiling supporting materials, and highlighting key trends or concerns

• Conduct market and company research to strengthen decision-making and provide context for underwriting recommendations

• Verify the accuracy and completeness of data received from internal and external sources before analysis is finalized

• Contribute to special projects and seasonal priorities, including preparation tied to major industry events and underwriting activities
