Job description

Genie is seeking an Associate Product Manager to support Commercial and Gate Operators, and related accessory product lines. In this role, you will contribute to both the strategic and tactical management of products throughout their lifecycle, while gaining hands-on experience in product management, market analysis, customer support, pricing, product development, and commercialization activities.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is curious, adaptable, and proactive in seeking opportunities to contribute. They are comfortable taking ownership of projects, collaborating across teams, and leveraging modern digital and AI-powered tools to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and deliver results efficiently.
 


 

Skills/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work independently when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, project experience, or up to two years of relevant work experience in product management, engineering, manufacturing, construction, technology, or related industries.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Oracle, JDE, or similar ERP systems.
  • Exposure to construction, industrial, manufacturing, automation, or technology-related industries.
  • Experience utilizing AI-powered tools or modern digital technologies to improve productivity, streamline business processes, and support decision-making.

Physical / Work Environment Requirements

  • Moderate travel required (15-25%).
  • Support the management of Commercial Operator, Gate Operator, and Accessory product lines throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Assist with the development, launch, and management of new products and programs.
  • Support daily tactical, service, quality, and customer-related issues.
  • Provide product support to architects, builders, distributors, sales teams, and customers.
  • Support District Sales Managers with new customer onboarding activities.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of product training for field sales, customer service, manufacturing teams, and channel partners.
  • Support manufacturing teams in managing existing product lines and implementing product improvements.
  • Participate in the New Product Development (NPD) process, including product planning, development, launch, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to support product strategy and business decisions.
  • Assist with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Product Information Bulletins (PIBs), and other product-related communications.
  • Support the development of sales literature, customer-facing content, technical documentation, and training materials.
  • Assist with preparations for major industry trade shows, customer events, and product demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with pricing teams on product setup and maintenance within MXP, JDE, Oracle, and other business systems.
  • Create instructional documents, product guides, and customer support materials.
  • Utilize AI-enabled and other digital productivity tools to improve research, analysis, content creation, reporting, and overall business efficiency.
