Location: Urgent Care in Brentwood, MO

Worker Type: Regular

Weekly Hours: 36 hours

Position Overview

This role involves taking x-rays of specific areas of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing assistance within the imaging department. The focus of this position is solely on plain films and fluoroscopy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate procedures to patients to ensure they understand the process, providing relevant educational materials.
  • Transport patients to and from clinical areas, confirming their identity in accordance with established policies.
  • Assist technologists in preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning them appropriately.
  • Help with the organization of patient reports and charts, including filing, delivering, and retrieving documents, as well as matching films to folders.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize unnecessary exposure for patients.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications, following state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and report any unusual activity, suggesting updates to protocols as necessary.
  • Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documents to the PACS system, including correct patient data and lead markers.
  • Maintain equipment functionality and report any issues to the appropriate personnel, locking or tagging out equipment when necessary.
  • Contribute to keeping the department clean and organized, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
  • In emergency situations, may perform limited CT procedures if the CT Technologist is unavailable.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a Radiology Technology program.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Frequent use of vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
  • Regularly engage in oral communication, utilizing hearing and speech.
  • Frequently lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs, including patients.
  • Occasionally lift objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Engage in repetitive movements with hands, arms, and legs.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and twisting may be required.
  • Rarely kneel or sit.
