POSITION SUMMARY:
The Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging equipment, and supporting the surgical team during operations. This role requires attention to detail, strong knowledge of sterile techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments. The Surgical Technician plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety and supporting optimal surgical outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterile and ready.
  • Assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures.
  • Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure accuracy.
  • Sterilize and clean surgical instruments and equipment post-procedure.
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and supplies used.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure smooth workflow and patient care.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with surgical practices.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
