ICU CNA/Monitor Tech - 31312

We are currently looking for a Full Time ICU CNA/Monitor Tech to join our Intensive Care Unit Nurse Team team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.

Summary:

Continuously observes and documents cardiac monitor rhythms, promptly notifying nursing staff of changes or abnormalities. Provides patient care support including clerical duties, preparing patient records, data collection, and performs delegated nursing tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities:

* Performs Certified Nurse Assistant duties as assigned - Takes direction from charge nurse and primary nurse - Takes and records vital signs and reports abnormal results to the primary nurse - Performs finger stick blood sugars and reports to primary nurse - Assists patients with personal hygiene activities - Assists patients with meals and toileting - Assists patients with ambulation and bedside commode - Lifts and turns patients as ordered - Prepares room and bed for patients - Strips bed and cleans equipment from room upon discharge of patient - Responsible for cleaning dirty equipment and bedside commode after patient use * Records care given and reports patient care observations * Serves as receptionist by greeting patients and visitors * Performs supportive tasks related to patient care e.g., referrals to other agencies or departments when indicated, transcribes physician orders * Answers the phone, transfers call, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served * Prepares Kardex sheets, laboratory, X-ray requests, and diet sheet orders in accordance with provider orders * Schedules prescribed follow-up appointments and completes prescribed lab, X-ray, and other service requests * Coordinates the transportation of patients to other healthcare facilities * Transports lab specimens to laboratory when necessary * Observes cardiac monitors and maintains records for all monitored patients * Confers with registered nursing staff in identifying and reporting abnormal cardiac rhythms * Ensures cardiac alarms always remain on * Prepares patient records upon patient arrival * Uses a basic knowledge of medical and diagnostic functions and services for the admission process * Ensures that appropriate forms are present in the patient's medical record during the Length of Stay (LOS) * Maintains ICU logs as assigned by the ICU Manager * Adheres to accepted policy and standards of the facility and other regulatory agencies * Orders and maintains supply of in-house supplies * Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information * Maintains a safe, clean environment * Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency * Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities * Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types - Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment - Maintains and promotes professionalism - Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics - Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards * Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area * Performs all other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:
