Buckland is looking for an Operations Team Leader

What you’ll be doing

This position is responsible for support customer service and delivery activities by coordinating and directing teams tasked with shipping, receiving, and storage of goods. They focus on order fulfilment and supply chain coordination, as well as personnel management.

You will be responsible for

  • Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, vendors, and service providers by updating client’s product database and handling requests efficiently.
  • Coordinate and complete all mid to high volume shipments for customs clearance on different customs ports of entry/outcome and ensure process flow based on best practices per shipment type: Air, Land and Ocean.
  • Prepare Customs entries and documentation, ability to do tariff research and classification of goods to comply with Canadian, Mexican and US customs regulations (as applicable).
  • Completion and monitoring of E29B’s and complex entries. (CND Only)
  • Review, verify and document entry errors by updating applicable system.
  • Act as liaison between CBP, CSCB or Mexican Customs and operations to ensure compliance with each country applicable regulations.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • Showcase your skills with Microsoft utilizing programs such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Identify potential challenges/risks and solve problems efficiently or work with Leaders for a solution.
  • Foster a fast paced culture leading by example in terms of accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage the team multiple and personal tasks to meet KPI's and deadlines.
  • To provide the highest level of customer service by leading and mentoring, fostering a positive and productive work environment and resolving escalated issues as needed.

  • Assist with performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Assign tasks to team members
  • Assists with training and guidance of direct reports
  • Monitor work volumes of direct reports
  • Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules

What we need from you

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years in custom brokerage or logistics experience.
  • Intermediate MS Office knowledge.
  • High level of organization, time management and attention to detail.
  • Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Completion of complex entries.
  • CSI knowledge (US only).
  • Preferable AES knowledge (US only).
  • CCS Designation (US NB and CND only).
  • Knowledge of customs tariff and FTA application (CND only).
  • Bilingual (fluent in both Spanish/English) is necessary (US SB only).
  • Knowledge on Mexican Legislation in Foreign Trade Business (MXN only).
  • Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
  • Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MX.
