We are looking for a System Administrator to join our team. This position involves working in a highly collaborative team environment. Our team consists of cutting-edge technologists, data hounds, and aspiring entrepreneurs. We are driven by our passion to solve complex problems with elegant tools. Our applications are built on the following technology stack: .NET MVC, Kendo UI, SQL Server 2012 and hosted in Windows Azure, with many of the newest Windows Azure features. As a Microsoft partner, MedaPoint is pushing the envelope with this structure and expects you to provide input from a System Administrator perspective.
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform activities related to the operations and monitoring of the MedaPoint's cloud-based web applications.
  • Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of Windows Azure hosted web environments
  • Interact closely with MedaPoint teams for applications and systems support
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues
  • Configure, support, monitor, and maintain Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, and VM's
  • Responsible for assessing and responding to critical system issues during and after business hours.
  • Maintain system security and enforce firewalls, antivirus, Windows updates, hot fixes and patches.
  • Troubleshoot alerts from monitoring system for system error conditions (system down, disk full, CPU busy, memory full, etc.)
  • Planning, testing and implementation of all IT infrastructure.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Maintain documentation of IT systems.
  • Responsible for research and development of assigned projects as it relates to changing technology and making recommendations.

  • Windows Server 2008 Administration and Management
  • Experience with Azure is a plus

  • High skill with most operating system commands/utilities
  • Familiarity with Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC)
  • Familiarity with networked/distributed computing environment concepts; for
    • example, can use nslookup, tracert, add workstations/servers to domains, and
    • map remote filesystems, understands basic routing concepts and VPNs)
  • Ability to write scripts in Powershell
  • Ability to Administer IIS
  • Administer Microsoft SQL Server, monitor database health
  • Perform Microsoft SQl server backup and recovery
  • Ability to write batch jobs, scripts and database queries.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and security controls.
  • Maintain DNS settings
  • MS Scripting languages such as batch, VBS, and PowerShell
  • MCSE/MCSA/MCITP certification is a plus
