Job description

Title: Assistant Swim Lesson Instructor
Status: Regular Part-time or Supplemental
Hourly Rate: $14.00

Description:
Make a splash with the City of Fishers! We're looking for upbeat Assistant Swim Instructors to help lead fun, safe, and confidence-boosting swim lessons at the Fishers Community Center. Shifts are generally on weekdays between 4pm and 8pm. If you love the water, enjoy working with all ages, and bring positive energy to everything you do � jump in and join our team!
Examples of Duties
  • Assist Swim Lesson Instructors during lessons by demonstrating swimming techniques, provide assistance to students who need extra help and encouragement, and assist with reporting.
  • Help the Swim Instructor manage class behavior, warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies.
  • Help monitor the class, ensuring swimmers stay within designated areas and follow safety guidelines.
  • Facilitate class readiness by helping to set up the teaching areas, ensuring equipment is set up/put away and organizing lesson materials.
  • Perform water rescues, administers proper first aid and/or CPR, if needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and coach development in-services as scheduled.
  • Perform duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 15 years of age
  • Must be able to earn swim instructor certification at hire. Certification testing will be provided.
  • M ust have an Adult CPR/AED, First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within the first 30 days. Training will be provided.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and staff.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
