Assistant Styling information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Assistant Stylist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Assistant Stylist, you need a keen eye for fashion trends, strong organizational skills, and basic knowledge of garment care, often supported by a relevant degree or on-the-job training. Familiarity with digital mood boards, inventory tracking systems, and industry-standard styling tools is typically required. Excellent communication, adaptability, and the ability to work well under pressure set outstanding Assistant Stylists apart. These skills ensure seamless collaboration, efficient workflow, and the delivery of high-quality styling results for clients and creative teams.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

Assistant Styling roles in the fashion industry can sometimes pay $10,000 or more per month for experienced professionals, especially those working with high-profile clients or in luxury settings. Success in such roles often depends on a strong portfolio, networking, and skills in fashion trends, wardrobe management, and styling tools. However, high earnings are typically associated with significant experience and reputation rather than formal education alone.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

High-paying jobs that can pay around $2,000 a day typically include specialized roles such as surgeons, anesthesiologists, corporate lawyers, and certain high-level consultants or contractors. These positions often require advanced education, certifications, extensive experience, and work in demanding environments or on a project basis.

What does a styling assistant do?

A styling assistant supports fashion stylists by organizing wardrobe items, preparing outfits, and assisting during photoshoots or events. They may also handle shopping, fittings, and maintaining styling inventories, often working in fast-paced environments that require attention to detail and good communication skills.

How much do styling assistants get paid?

Styling assistants typically earn between $15 and $25 per hour, with annual salaries ranging from approximately $30,000 to $50,000 depending on experience, location, and the employer. They often work in fashion or entertainment industries and may need to develop skills in fashion trends and wardrobe management.

What does an Assistant Stylist do?

An Assistant Stylist supports lead stylists in preparing outfits, coordinating wardrobe pieces, and ensuring the smooth execution of photo shoots, fashion shows, or personal styling sessions. Their duties often include sourcing clothing and accessories, organizing looks, steaming and prepping garments, and assisting during fittings. They also help with administrative tasks such as managing inventory and maintaining relationships with designers and vendors. This role is key for gaining hands-on experience and learning the ins and outs of the fashion industry.

What are some common challenges faced by Assistant Stylists, and how can they be overcome?

Assistant Stylists often face fast-paced environments where priorities can shift quickly, particularly during photo shoots or fashion shows. Managing multiple tasks, such as organizing wardrobe items, steaming garments, and ensuring timely outfit changes, requires strong organizational skills and adaptability. Building effective communication with lead stylists and other team members is key to overcoming these challenges. Staying proactive, maintaining attention to detail, and anticipating the needs of the styling team can help Assistant Stylists excel and grow in their roles.

About Great Clips

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

Great Clips, Inc. was established in Minneapolis, Minnesota by founders David Rubenzer and Steve Lemmon in 1982, a time when most people received haircuts in one of three ways: in full-service hair salons, from barbershops or at home. As a stylist and businessman, David could see that the industry was changing. Customers were looking for a hair salon service that could fit their busy lifestyles and desire for value. To be part of that change – rather than find themselves competing with it – David and Steve developed the then-radical concept of a walk-in haircare salon with weekend and evening hours, offering customers a select list of services, and providing benefits for stylists. After the founders opened several successful hair salons, Ray Barton joined David and Steve as an owner in March 1983. With Ray's help and expertise in franchising, the trio set about growing the Great Clips hair salon brand. That success continues through today.
