Job description


POSITION INFORMATION:
       Supervisor: Mr. Andrew Foley, Director of Television Services (PEG-TV) Employment Period:  12 Months Employment Status:  Full-time Pay Grade: G-216 Hiring Range: $50,466 - $67,408 Start Date: Immediately     
Responsible for the operation, installation, modification, and repair of both digital and analog video production/broadcast equipment, IP transport systems, as well as broadcast production vehicles. Assist leadership and department team in video productions. Support team members with troubleshooting and ENG system integration. Detailed knowledge of test equipment operation including various waveform functions, spectrum analyzer, test signal generators, multimeters, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of all video broadcast equipment.
  • Research, design, and install systems, including but not limited to control room equipment, master control, broadcast equipment, production truck equipment, editing equipment, digital equipment, IP transport systems, and computer systems.
  • Provide technical support and continuous training for staff and other personnel on designated systems.
  • Perform audio operation, support, and integration for various forms of production.
  • Provide support and maintenance to the day-to-day broadcasting, live production, live-to-tape production, and post production operations.
  • Develop training materials, quick reference guides, and technical drawings of audio and video paths for quick troubleshooting.
  • Maintain updated knowledge in new technology, broadcasting, digital media, studio productions, editing, cameras, and computer equipment to excel and contribute to the improvement of PEG TV.
  • Monitor and maintain signal quality and play-out accuracy.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
     
    • Must possess a high school diploma or GED with substantial experience in television engineering, related field, or an equivalent combination of work experience and course work.
    • Must be able to use and understand industry standard testing and analyzing equipment.
    • Thorough knowledge of broadcast electronics, cable systems, digital video, television studio, and editing systems.
    • Experience working in networked facilities and possess the ability to expand and understand network infrastructure (broadcast protocols over IP).
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to "triage" technical complications, set priorities, and meet multiple tight deadlines.
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, broadcast gear, and work in various weather conditions while on location for remote productions.
    • Audio/Video over IP experience desirable.
    • Excellent communication skills required.
    • Positive, customer-service focused attitude.
    • Society of Broadcast Engineers Certification or equivalent preferred.
    • Must be able to work nights/weekends and work with minimal supervision.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid and current driver's license.
