ANNOUNCEMENT OF OPENING DEPARTMENT OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS

 

POSITION:  Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Appointment in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

STARTING DATE:  August 17, 2026 (negotiable)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required. Certified by one of these national accredited governing bodies (CSCS, SCCC, USAW). CPR and First Aid Certified.  Demonstrated history of rules compliance and thorough knowledge of NCAA bylaws.  Must have a strong commitment to the welfare of student-athletes and a reputation of integrity, both professionally and personally.  Proficiency in oral and written communication and administrative abilities necessary. Demonstrated ability working in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural environment. Ability to successfully pass NCAA Coaches Examination on an annual basis.

DUTIES: Assist with the oversight of the strength and conditioning program for 11 NCAA sports. Work in conjunction with the head strength and conditioning coach to organize and design strength, power, speed, and agility programs for teams. The University is a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for complying with all institutional, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations.  Reports to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, under the direction of the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Salary: The full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) monthly salary range for this classification is $6,288 to $7,658, in accordance with the CSU Unit 3 salary schedule. This position is anticipated to be appointed at a 0.44 time base, and the salary will be prorated accordingly. The final salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate's education and experience.
