Traveling Maintenance Technician Department: Operations Reports To: Director of Operations Territory: Tennessee Market
Position Summary
Workout Anytime is seeking a skilled, dependable, and self-motivated Traveling Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair of our Tennessee fitness clubs. This position is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, fully operational facilities while ensuring an exceptional member experience.
The technician will routinely travel between the following Tennessee locations:
· Spring Hill
· Hermitage
· Smyrna
· Cookeville
· Crossville
· Morristown
· Hixson
This role requires a hands-on individual with strong mechanical aptitude who can independently diagnose and repair facility systems, commercial fitness equipment, and club amenities while maintaining company standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance
· Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to all club facilities.
· Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, lighting, electrical fixtures, drywall, flooring, painting, ceilings, doors, locks, windows, and general building components.
· Repair and maintain locker rooms, restrooms, showers, sinks, toilets, water heaters, and plumbing fixtures.
· Maintain HVAC filters, thermostats, exhaust fans, and assist with basic HVAC troubleshooting.
· Repair interior and exterior building finishes while maintaining a professional appearance throughout each club.
· Ensure all emergency exits, lighting, signage, and safety equipment remain operational and compliant.
Fitness Equipment Maintenance
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial fitness equipment including:
· Matrix treadmills
· Ellipticals
· Upright and recumbent bikes
· Stair climbers
· Rowers
· Functional trainers
· Cable crossover systems
· Selectorized strength equipment
· Plate-loaded equipment
· Smith machines
· Benches and racks
· Free weight equipment
Responsibilities include:
· Lubrication and preventative maintenance
· Belt tracking and replacement
· Cable replacement
· Pulley and bearing replacement
· Console troubleshooting
· Mechanical adjustments
· Equipment calibration
· Warranty repair coordination with manufacturers
Recovery & Member Amenity Maintenance
Maintain and repair premium member amenities including:
· HydroMassage lounges and beds
· Tanning beds and tanning booths
· Infrared and traditional saunas
· Massage chairs
· Water bottle filling stations and drinking fountains
· Television systems
· Club audio systems
· Member charging stations
Responsibilities include:
· Replacing tanning lamps and acrylics
· Maintaining cooling systems and ventilation for tanning equipment
· Troubleshooting HydroMassage electronics and mechanical systems
· Maintaining sauna heaters, controls, timers, benches, lighting, and ventilation
· Coordinating manufacturer service when specialty repairs are required
Club Operations Support
· Respond promptly to maintenance requests submitted by General Managers.
· Prioritize emergency repairs affecting member safety or business operations.
· Assist with club remodels, equipment installations, flooring projects, and facility upgrades.
· Assemble and install new commercial fitness equipment.
· Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as necessary.
· Assist with emergency maintenance after hours when operationally required.
Technology & Building Systems
Maintain and troubleshoot:
· Electronic door access systems
· Member entry scanners
· Security cameras
· Alarm systems
· Basic networking equipment
· Wi-Fi access points
· Television displays
· Digital signage
· Music systems
Coordinate with approved vendors when repairs exceed internal capabilities.
Administrative Responsibilities
· Complete all assigned work orders accurately and timely.
· Document repairs, preventative maintenance, and parts used.
· Maintain inventory of repair materials and commonly used replacement parts.
· Recommend capital improvements and replacement equipment when appropriate.
· Communicate repair status and project updates to club management and the Director of Operations.
