A leading manufacturer of material handling solutions is seeking an innovative and hands-on Product Development Engineer to join their Engineering team.
Full time Salary $85k+
This role will support the design, development, and continuous improvement of loading dock equipment and material handling products, including dock levelers, vehicle restraints, and seals & shelters.
Working closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Finance teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in developing safe, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions from concept through production.
We are looking for someone who is an innovative thinker, strong problem solver, team player, and passionate about improving products and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform product design and development activities for material handling equipment
- Design new products, product enhancements, and customized engineering solutions
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and product improvement activities
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure designs are scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable
- Support product standardization and platform optimization initiatives
- Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) within MRP systems
- Assist with prototype assembly, pre-production builds, and design validation activities
