WAREHOUSE TECHNICIAN

Reports to: Store Manager
Status: Regular, Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: Anchorage, AK / Wasilla, AK / Fairbanks, AK 
Compensation: $20 - $26 DOE

JOB SUMMARY: The Warehouse Technician is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the warehouse and showroom through assembly, inventory management, customer support, and logistics. This role involves hands-on work assembling and programming solar equipment, managing shipping and receiving processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and providing excellent customer service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety of the warehouse, showroom, and associated equipment.
  • Handle shipping and receiving solar equipment, materials, and supplies, ensuring accurate paperwork and inventory tracking.
  • Assemble, program, and test solar equipment and related products; receive paid on-site training.
  • Commission and activate off-grid solar systems with customers.
  • Assist customers with load out, product education, and answer showroom inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Perform deliveries and pickups as needed using company vehicles.
  • Manage phone and email communications, addressing customer questions and concerns.
  • Organize and maintain customer project files, spreadsheets, and status tracking tools.
  • Provide basic technical support to customers, including troubleshooting software, hardware, and system issues.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives by helping develop and implement new product promotions.
  • Continuously train on all current and new products, services, and installation procedures.
  • Maintain proficiency in company software tools (Evosus, CRM, Google Suite, Microsoft Office) for product, sales, service, scheduling, and customer tracking.
  • Attend company-provided training and participate in meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Basic experience using hand tools and assembling mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and product knowledge continuously.
  • Knowledge of solar energy products and systems preferred but not required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. One (1) year of customer service experience, preferred.
  3. Must pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  4. Valid driver’s license required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with Alaska Native Corporations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted; push/pull up to 200 lbs. with assistance.
  • Work in various climate conditions including outdoor weather and warehouse environment.
  • Stand or walk for up to 8–12 hours per day. 
  • Safely work and operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, and perform repetitive motions as needed.
