What this job involves:
The Assistant Chief Engineer is a key member of JLL's Facilities team, supporting the Chief Engineer in overseeing building operations, maintenance, and engineering services. This role helps ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of all facility systems while supporting sustainability initiatives, operational excellence, and high-quality service delivery across a multi-building site.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Assisting the Chief Engineer with daily operations of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems

  • Supervising and coordinating maintenance staff and contractors across first and second shifts

  • Monitoring and maintaining building automation and control systems to optimize energy efficiency and performance

  • Conducting regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and resolve potential issues

  • Responding to emergency situations and providing technical expertise to address building-related problems

  • Supporting sustainability initiatives and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations

  • Managing administrative responsibilities, including billing, documentation, and work order tracking

  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventories, and compliance requirements

  • Collaborating with property management, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality facility services

Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting or managing commercial building operations and maintenance

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a facilities or engineering environment

Additional Details:

  • Schedule: First shift, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

  • Pay Range: $43-$46 per hour
