Pay
- $25-$32 per hour, based on experience and skill level

Position Overview
The Class A CDL Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating dump trucks and trailers while also operating and assisting with paving equipment and jobsite operations.
This role is hands-on and production-focused. CDL Operators at Proper Paving are expected to support the crew, protect equipment, and keep jobs moving-not wait in the cab.
Core Responsibilities
Driving & Transport
- Operate Class A dump trucks and pull equipment trailers
- Load, secure, and transport equipment and materials
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections
- Complete electronic logs and digital timekeeping
Equipment Operation
- Operate paving equipment such as:
- Skid steers with attachments
- Rollers
- Mini excavators
- Assist with basic equipment checks, cleaning, and care
Jobsite Support
- Dump asphalt into paver safely and accurately
- Assist with jobsite setup, cleanup, and traffic control
- Support paving, prep, and maintenance operations as needed
- Perform additional tasks as directed by foremen to maintain production flow
What This Job Requires
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to work overtime, occasional Saturdays, and limited overnight travel
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs and perform physical tasks
- Professional attitude and team-first mindset
- Pride in equipment and safe operation
Licensing & Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Automatic transmission restriction acceptable
- 3+ years CDL driving experience preferred
- Ability to complete DOT requirements, electronic logs, and inspections
- Equipment operating experience preferred (training available)
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
