Department
WFSU Public Media
Responsibilities
  • Research story ideas/sources.
  • Report, write, edit, and produce stories for broadcast, web and social media.
  • Work with the News Director and WFSU team to assist with the distribution of information across our platforms-design and cater content to the specific medium.
  • Occasionally serve as a fill-in host for on-air programming.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
  • A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Experience in audio, digital and video production.
  • Experience in writing and copy editing.
  • Ability to understand and simplify complex issues.
  • Experience producing long-form, narrative journalism in broadcast and digital.
  • Ability to adapt the material to fit a variety of platforms-audio, print, social and television.
  • Preferred majors: Communications, English, Editing Writing and Media, Journalism, Marketing and Advertising, Filmmaking.
