Job description

RNFA - RN First Assistant

As a First Assistant Registered Nurse, you'll support physicians in clinic, hospital, and OR settings to provide top-tier medical care. You will collaborate closely with both physicians and patients in clinical and hospital settings to ensure excellent care. Your duties will cover the entire patient treatment process, from before to after surgery.

Our benefits are designed to help you live well no matter where you are on your journey. For full details on coverage and eligibility, visit the Baylor Scott & White Benefits Hub to explore our offerings, which may include:

  • Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits
  • 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5%
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • PTO accrual beginning Day 1

Note: Benefits may vary based upon position type and/or level.

As a First Assistant Registered Nurse, you'll carry out pre-surgical evaluations and focused nursing assessments, and issue pre-operative orders by following established procedures. You'll play a crucial role in patient care planning, by interacting and coordinating with other healthcare providers. One main responsibility is assisting surgeons during operations. This includes handling instruments, providing exposure, cutting tissue, ensuring hemostasis, and suturing tissues. After surgeries, you'll help manage patients with other healthcare professionals. Assisting with patient discharge and coordinating with community resources when needed is another key aspect of this role.

We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported.
