JOB DESCRIPTION

ABI Health Care is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Patient Services (ADPS) to support the clinical leadership team within one of New York's largest home care organizations. Reporting directly to the Director of Patient Services, this role serves as a key operational and clinical partner, helping oversee daily home care operations, nursing staff support, regulatory compliance, quality assurance initiatives, and complex patient cases.

This position is ideal for a hands-on RN leader who enjoys balancing clinical oversight with staff development and operational excellence. While the majority of time will be spent in the office, there may be occasions where the ADPS accompanies the DPS into the field for patient or staff support visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Patient Services with daily clinical operations and workflow management
  • Provide leadership and support to RN Supervisors, Visiting RNs, and clinical staff
  • Serve as a clinical escalation resource for complex and high-risk patient cases
  • Monitor patient care quality, safety, and continuity of services
  • Review admissions, reassessments, hospital transitions, and discharge planning
  • Conduct chart audits and oversee documentation accuracy and compliance
  • Support survey readiness and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Coordinate clinical staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution
  • Collaborate with physicians, hospitals, insurance companies, care coordinators, and families
  • Monitor performance metrics, productivity, and quality indicators
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management of clinical staff

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
  • Minimum 1 year of home health experience
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin or Cantonese
  • Strong clinical judgment and complex case management experience
  • Experience supervising or supporting nursing staff
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of home health regulations and compliance requirements
