Physician Assistant – Rheumatology

Sun Valley Arthritis Center is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant (PA) to support one designated Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). The PA will manage and follow the assigned physician’s patients, helping maintain continuity of care and timely access to rheumatology services.


Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat new and established patients assigned to the designated DO.
  • Conduct patient histories and comprehensive physical examinations.
  • Develop and update treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising DO.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe medications according to practice protocols and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor patients receiving biologic medications and infusion therapies.
  • Review test results and communicate follow-up recommendations to patients.
  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate care with the supervising DO, medical assistants, infusion staff, pharmacies, and outside providers.
  • Escalate complex cases or significant changes in a patient’s condition to the supervising DO.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow all clinical and safety policies.


Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Arizona Physician Assistant license.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Current DEA registration and prescribing authority, as applicable.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Rheumatology, internal medicine, or specialty-care experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the supervising DO while maintaining continuity of care for the physician’s patients.
