Job description

At NorthBay Health the Radiology Tech I will work under the supervision of the Supervisor. Performs general radiographic studies to established QA criteria. Produces radiographs and organizes images, completes required paperwork and charges. Responsible for patient safety and wellbeing during examinations.  Assists and instructs patients during examinations. Assists with clerical duties. Reports all equipment malfunctions. Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Performs radiographic examinations in accordance to established protocols.  Subject to periodic evaluation by Supervisor for quality control.
  • Assists and instructs patients prior and during examinations.
  • Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards.
  • Responsible for patient safety and wellbeing during examinations.
  • Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use.
  • Reports to outpatient supervisor equipment failures and/or malfunctions.
  • Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies and drug reactions according to QA policies.
  • Responsible for producing images, burning CD and, organizing paperwork and completing requisition data.
  • Works in other areas of department such as: front office, etc.
  • Assists other modalities as time allows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

Education:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved radiology course.

Licensure: 

  • CRT required
  • Current AHA or equivalent healthcare provider BLS Certification required.

  • Less than one year of experience in general radiology.

  • Basic clerical and computer experience.
