Position:     Assistant Golf Professional

Status:         Full-Time, Hourly Non-Exempt

Job Summary:  

The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional reporting to the Director of Golf.  If you are a credentialed professional with thorough knowledge of the role of a PGA Professional within a private club atmosphere, apply to this extraordinary opportunity at a premier club with best-in-class facilities and team today!  The Assistant Golf Professional must be aspiring to become a well-trained golf professional utilizing the guidelines and training set forth by the PGA of America     

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the daily check-in and billing of golfers at the The Plantation Golf Shop.
  • Supervises Cart Staff and Starter / Ranger programs. 
  • Assistant Professional is assigned specific areas of supervision regarding the cart staff and starter/ranger programs. 
  • Other responsibilities include making tee time reservations
  • Assisting in the merchandising operation of the Golf Shop
  • Tournament management
  • Providing individual golf lessons and conducting and/or assisting in group clinics
  • Recording of daily sales
  • Keeping the Golf Shop neat and clean
  • Providing outstanding customer service to all guests, members, and other visitors
  • Ability to organize, delegate responsibility, and follow up on results
  • Be able to conduct interviews for staff for specific areas of responsibility
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance, conform to uniform requirements, and be generally professional in personal presentation
  • Must have basic computer and accounting skills and be comfortable interacting with multiple departments within the organization
  • 1-2 years related experience in a similar private club is a bonus and highly desired


In addition to the advertised hourly rate of pay, this position is eligible to receive paid PGA Dues, Clothing Allowance, and a percentage of Lesson Income and Club Repair Income.


Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to seventy (70) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
