Job description

Dawson Construction is looking for an experienced Quality Control Inspector will ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a temporary, full-time position of Quality Control Inspector, reporting to the Manager of Quality. This position is a critical part of the Dawson Construction Quality Control Team and plays an integral part in our Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will effectively work with customers, both internal and external, to provide a valued service as an industry expert in quality services. Your base location will be Kamloops, BC and will require travel throughout our great province.


WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Conducting and coordinating inspections of work activities

Generating daily reports for works completed analysis of aggregates / asphalt

Maintain accurate and detailed records in accordance with the QMS

Participate in all levels of the organization to continually improve process and procedures

Manage incidents of non-conformance

Regular travel, as required, throughout jobsites

Communicate effectively with the Ministry of Transportation (MoTI), stakeholders, crews, supervisors, and the general public

Preforms other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate


WHAT YOU BRING

A combination of Engineering technologist designation or similar / Minimum five (5) years road and maintenance and/or construction experience

Knowledge and understanding of the MOTI specifications, Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD) and ISO 9001:2015 QMS standards

Strong leadership skills, managerial experience and analytical skills

Strong communication and organizational skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
