ABOUT THE ROLE
To provide constant monitoring and record keeping for the various stages of production of precast concrete, as it relates to quality (i.e. compliance with CSA A23.4, CPCI/PCI Standards, job specifications, plant standards, and procedures)


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Ensure that all materials and workmanship are in accordance with required specifications and drawings as applicable.
  • Keep on file a complete set of shop drawings for each work order and review job specific data/specifications with the QA/QC Manager and inform plant personnel.
  • Prepare the necessary inspection forms for each specific job being monitored and record all data appropriately, and monitor and record the review of all purchased materials as they are received (i.e., cement, aggregate, admixtures, strand, reinforcing, miscellaneous iron, etc.) before and during placement into products.
  • Perform testing of plastic and cured concrete (i.e. air, slump, cylinder breaks ect.) and record all necessary information as per specifications.
  • Evaluate mix design performance and consult QA/QC Manager for necessary adjustments.
  • Monitor and record all pertinent plant procedures. This includes keeping the required records and distributing report forms as outlined in the internal Quality program.
  • Perform a pre-pour inspection and follow-up post pour review of all products and provide a quality sign-off.
  • Survey of larger precast elements for camber and sweep as required.
  • Report any and all non-conformance issues to the QA/QC Manager and write necessary Non-Conformance Reports.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Civil Engineering/Construction Technology or Civil Engineering preferred; relevant work experience will also be considered
Required Work Experience: Basic surveying skills preferred
Required Training/Certifications: PCI Level 1/2 certification preferred. CCIL or ACI certification preferred.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Demonstrate strong skills in problem-solving, decision making and multi-tasking
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
