Job description

Position: Assistant Quality Assurance Manager
Location: San Antonio, TX
Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing Quality Assurance and Food Safety operations within the manufacturing facility.

  • Ensure compliance with BRC, FDA, customer, and company quality standards.

  • Supervise, coach, and train Quality Assurance team members.

  • Conduct internal audits and review quality documentation and records.

  • Investigate customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Oversee food safety programs, including sanitation, pest control, allergen management, supplier approval, and environmental monitoring.

  • Develop, update, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Collaborate closely with Production and Operations teams to maintain product quality and food safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of Quality Assurance or Food Safety management experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Food Safety, Quality Systems, BRC, HACCP, FDA regulations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Experience conducting audits, investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
