Job description

Commerical Construction Quality Control Manager

Position Summary

Costello Construction is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to oversee and implement quality assurance and quality control processes across all commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that all work meets company standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in project execution. Must hold USACE QC


Key Responsibilities

  •  Implement, and manage the Quality Control Program for all assigned projects
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and industry standards
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure quality expectations are clearly communicated and met
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and material specifications for compliance
  • Monitor and document all phases of construction to ensure adherence to approved plans and quality standards
  • Identify deficiencies, track corrective actions, and verify completion of required improvements
  • Lead quality control meetings, including pre installation conferences, and provide updates to internal teams and clients.  Coordinate meetings with Owners, Owners’ representatives and design team members to encourage participation.  Keep and distribute minutes of all meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety standards, and regulations
  • Maintain thorough documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and quality records
  • Complete all project closeout, ensuring all quality-related documentation is complete and accurate
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce rework, and improve overall project quality

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on quality control or quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
  • Experience with QC programs, inspections, and documentation processes
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • OSHA certification preferred
